Winters - Kimber

Winters is married to Kirk Winters, and they have two children. She is a resident of Topeka, Kansas.

Winters' entry into politics began in 2012 when she decided to run for the Kansas State Senate seat in the 38th district. She won the Democratic primary and went on to defeat Republican candidate, Michael B. O'Donnell, in the general election. Winters was sworn into office on January 14, 2013.

Before entering politics, Winters worked in the insurance industry. She began her career as a producer for a local insurance agency and later became a manager. Her experience in the insurance sector helped her develop strong communication and analytical skills.

Kim B. Winters was born on September 12, 1960, in Topeka, Kansas. She grew up in Topeka and graduated from Topeka High School. Winters pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Washburn University.
