The story begins with Mietek losing his sight as a young child due to untreated glaucoma. Sent to a center for the blind in Laski, he discovers music as a way to "see" and interact with the world. While he begins as a brilliant classical pianist, his discovery of jazz sets him on a path to becoming one of Poland's most enigmatic and talented musicians.
