The story begins with Mietek losing his sight as a young child due to untreated glaucoma. Sent to a center for the blind in Laski, he discovers music as a way to "see" and interact with the world. While he begins as a brilliant classical pianist, his discovery of jazz sets him on a path to becoming one of Poland's most enigmatic and talented musicians. It is all the more useful since it is practiced in a group. You develop social and communication skills, instead of chasing fluency alone. TISA promotes four core techniques: Bouncing, Prolongation, Pausing and Voluntary stammering. In addition, we share and practice many more skills/ approaches: listening, Body language, team skills, leadership, self-assertion, peer counseling- above all being a member of a vibrant community, through fair give and take.
