Following Lucy's bloody escape, the Special Assault Team (SAT) is deployed to neutralize her. Led by the sadistic and overconfident operative Bando , the team scours the coastline with orders to kill "the target" on sight.
The SAT eventually locates Nyu on the shore. Bando, ignoring warnings about her "vectors" (invisible telekinetic arms), brutally attacks the defenseless Nyu and Kouta. This physical trauma triggers the resurgence of the "Lucy" persona, who retaliates with overwhelming and graphic violence, severely maiming Bando before reverting back to Nyu.
