Leo frowned, typing his name on the mechanical keyboard. The clacking sound felt strangely loud in his small apartment. LEO
The screen flashed. A sound began to leak through his headphones. It wasn't the warm, analog synth wave he was expecting. It was a low, vibrating hum that seemed to bypass his ears entirely, resonating directly in the base of his skull. Another line appeared. YOU ARE ALONE, LEO. BUT WE ARE MANY.
Leo ripped the headphones off and threw them onto the desk. They continued to emit the low hum, vibrating against the wood. He stared at the monitor, his heart hammering against his ribs.
