Saint Parascheva was an 11th-century ascetic born in Epivates, near Constantinople. Her relics undertook a long journey through Bulgaria and Serbia before being gifted to Prince Vasile Lupu in 1641. They were brought to Iași as a gesture of gratitude from the Ecumenical Patriarchate for the prince's financial support. Today, they rest in the Metropolitan Cathedral of Iași, attracting hundreds of thousands of faithful every October 14th. Structure of the Akathist
